JANIE'S STORY

Janie’s story is one of happiness, freshness and fun. She grew up near Portland Oregon where she was popular and one of the cutest cheerleaders in high school. At 18 she married Tim and raised four wonderful children. Janie has been a great value to the community, always giving and cheerful. To this day she will go out of her way to greet a stranger or to speak to those in need. Her good spirit is inspiring. Janie started to have dementia symptoms at the age of 66 years old. Currently Janie has an external situation that has caused emotional stress, anxiety and depression. A lesson learned: Emotional trauma can greatly increase the symptoms of dementia into a debilitating state. Do everything you can to keep your loved one emotionally stable.

Message From Tim

Hello. Janie is my best friend and my lifelong love. We have been married for 53 years. She has given me a wonderful life and made me a whole person. These is no cure for Alzheimer's Disease, which is a form of Dementia. As her symptoms have worsened and I got more involved with the dementia caregiver community, I became inspired to do more. The need is great. SavingJanie.org is definitely about her, but also so much more. Our hope is that her story and experience with dementia, with that help of this website will help the quality of life of those who are affected by the life changing effects of dementia. SavingJanie.org is just getting started this Fall of 2024. So please leave a message of your experience with dementia, or any suggestions to help out, and please indicate if it is acceptable to share your experience on the website. Privacy is very important to us. Thank you again for taking time to view our website.
